Soon millions of “Christians” will celebrate a pagan festival, named after the old fertility goddess “Astarte” (Greek) or “Ishtar” (Babylonian). They will be searching for coloured eggs (a fertility symbol), somehow hidden by rabbits (also a fertility symbol). If they called themselves anything different from “Christian”, I would see no need to write this article – they would simple be celebrating yet another unbiblical feast, just like many nature – and polytheistic religions do.
But somehow this celebration of Easter is construed to be “Christian” and somehow honouring Christ. Something here is wrong. Something doesn’t make sense. This is why I write.
What don’t make sense are the facts.
Fact number 1: Christ did NOT die on the so-called “Good-Friday”. See our chart and check with your Bible.
Fact number 2: Christ did NOT rise early on Sunday morning. See our chart and check with your Bible.
Fact number 3: Christ NEVER wanted us to commemorate His resurrection with a feast. He instead told us to keep the Passover (the commemoration of His death) on one specific evening in the year and His Feast of Unleavened Bread the following day.
Fact number 4: Keeping Easter is NOT honouring Christ, but rather honouring an ancient sex goddess by a name very similar to Easter (Ishtar). Guess why eggs and bunnies are the symbols used for Easter.
Fact number 5: God told us to NOT to do as the heathen do: “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles” (Jeremiah 10:2). Do you want to “practice a lie” (Revelation 22:15)? See what God says about those: They are “outside” of the New Jerusalem, they won’t be there! God doesn’t allow idols and idolatrous practices into His holy places.
I genuinely hope the provided chart proves to you how wrongly you have been taught all your life. Christ wouldn’t want us to believe anything but the truth. The truth is what you can find in your Bible when you study it. If you don’t, it will never be understood and you will continue to follow the traditions of men (Matthew 15:9). And one day you will be surprised to hear these words: “Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you” (Matthew 25:12).
To those who say “Whatever I do is good as long as I honour Christ with it”, let me say: Would you sacrifice a child to honour Christ? Some have done it. Was that “good”? Would you fornicate with a prostitute to honour God? Some have done it. Was that “good”? What measure do we apply in order to prove something good or wrong? Is it not all too often just our own human scale of traditions and societal expectations we apply?
God has commanded us His Holy Days. Why replace them with something else, forget about what God has given us and then turn around thinking what we are doing is just fine? This is Satan’s big deception at work. Most love being ignorant because it is so easy. What will you decide to do? Will you continue to blindly follow and close your eyes before what is given you to understand here and now?
